Keeping the Dream

The candlelight vigil on Tuesday night was a most intense and poignant evening. I need some more time to process the experience, to let it sink down into me, to sit with it and let the evening, and everyone in it share its wisdom and compassion with me on a deeper level. But I just wanted to say that I am filled with a wonder and awe at the human spirit, its resiliency and the beauty of its strength and stubborn tenacity…even as it is broken, even as it will never be the same.

I did not walk away depressed, although I was deeply moved, although my heart broke and tears fell. How can I, when I stand in the presence of such sacred hearts?
