Keeping the Dream

I was just sitting here, catching up on some work in between my shifts at my “day job”, when I received a phone call. I spent the next ten minutes or more talking to a very nice person who had something wonderful to offer me in my work as an independent artist. But what impressed me the most was the passion with which he spoke about his own dream.

Sometimes, I get a little tired. I think it’s something all dreamers feel as we come to those places where we wonder if maybe we aren’t a little bit crazy for pursuing our dreams or if the way ahead of us seem insurmountable. But then you meet someone who is on fire about what they believe in, and you are lifted.

Life is like that. It’s filled with unexpected blessings that come in many guises - some obvious, others so much more subtle.

How many blessings are in your life just waiting to be discovered? Perhaps that next telephone ring or a knock on the door or a brief encounter with a passing stranger.

You never know. But one thing for sure, it takes willingness on our parts to receive, and we have to be awake - at least enough, to become aware of them.

I have to leave for work, but not without a smile in my heart, because right now, I’m thinking about you…and counting myself lucky - very lucky and blessed.
