[EDIT: These first two episodes of Keeping the Dream Podcast are trial runs. I’m in the process of learning how to use a different recording software and writing more episodes. A revised version of these two episodes will be available shortly. Subsequent ones will then be published on a regular basis . Thank you for your patience! ~ demian]

Conversations with Demian Yumei, singer/songwriter, author and artist activist on the healing journey.

In this episode I introduce myself and explain the focus of this podcast, which is to address what can stand in the way of us embracing our dreams so that we’re free to be who we are meant to be. For some of us, that work will involve dealing with drug abuse or mental illness. It may entail rape, incest or other forms of sexual and physical assault. We most certainly will deal with covert abuse — verbal, emotional and psychological.

I briefly cover my background, discuss the advisability of creating a support network and being mindful of possible triggers. This podcast will NOT contain graphic details of our individual wounds. That may be for another place and time, but here my focus is on the healing. Also included is my statement on qualifications and respecting privacy, as well as, honoring my story.

I’m delighted to be walking this path with you!

About the Author

About the Author: Greetings, fellow dreamer, and welcome! I’m Demian Yumei, author, singer/songwriter and artist activist. Some of my creative projects are a CD of healing music, “For the Sake of Love” and a children’s book on the interconnectedness of life, “Little Yellow Pear Tomatoes” published by Illumination Arts. Currently, I’m in the process of creating podcasts for my book series on covert abuse. My commitment is to the creative process especially as it relates to the healing journey. Whether I’m singing at a vigil for asylum seekers, memorial for political activists or sitting around a table sharing tea and conversation with friends who just want to talk heart to heart, I am always deeply moved by the human spirit to love and live with authentic beauty. Thank you for being here, for reading my posts and/or listening to my podcast. There’s much to share, much to create and the journey has just begun! Meet you on the path. .
