Being Heard – Morning Tea ktd-008

Written by on September 6, 2019 in Keeping the Dream Podcast: Conversations with 0 Comments

“The gift someone gives us when they truly listen, when we know we are heard and have been seen is a real act of love.

So, my question is… Can you give this gift to yourself?

We talk about being heard and about giving someone our full attention, but how often do we do that for ourselves? When you’re a target of covert abuse, it’s easy to get distracted. You become disoriented by the verbal attacks and emotional manipulation that seem to come at you from all sides, and you’re not even sure if you’re really being attacked! That’s the skill of covert abuse.

But if there’s ever a time you need to stop and pay attention to what’s going on inside of you and what you are trying to tell yourself, it’s here.

Going into this weekend, jot down a note, stick a Post-It to your frig, make a promise to yourself that you won’t treat yourself like the way some others might. Don’t brush yourself off.

Pay attention to what you are saying to you. Really listen.

I enjoyed making these Morning Tea episodes this week. We talked about:

  • What healing looks like to us
  • Our relationship with power
  • And our own healing power within.
  • We talked about the beauty of our thoughts, and today, being heard.

I hope you find these episodes as uplifting as I enjoy making them. Saturday I take off, but Sunday morning, I’ll meet you for Sunday Tea and Conversation. Hope to see you!

Until then, stay true to your journey, the light in your heart, who you are and who you are becoming, always.
