Conversations on the Healing Journey

Conversations on the Healing Journey

I do have good memories of my childhood, though few. I cherish the ones I have of the tea and conversations my sister, mother and I used to share. On this healing journey I would like to take the energy of those conversations and create a space here to share my thoughts with you.

Consider this an invitation. You are warmly welcomed to share your thoughts with me here.

To the best of my ability, I will create audio recordings of these posts for those who are hearing impaired or just prefer to listen instead of read. However, there are a lot of back posts, and I’m also limited in time as I’m working on a number of projects.

But like me, this blog is a work in progress. Thank you for joining me. Pull up a chair, make yourself comfortable, and I’ll put on the kettle.

[The song “Miyasan” and lyrics below] Strange how the person who probably affected me the most is the one I struggle the most to find words for — my mother. I used to think my mother’s story was culture specific and, most certainly in America, a rather unique experience. But I was wrong. Being torn […]

[updated 7/01/20] What do I mean when I say, the healing journey? A journey takes us from “here” to “there”. On a healing journey, “there”,  is a state of being, arising from growth and change that allows us to live our lives as authentically and consciously as possible. Now, what that looks like and how […]

Who Benefits from Realistic as Negative? ktd-010

Who benefits from you believing that to be realistic is to be negative, that holding a dream is a fantasy and giving up on it is reality? Those who would have you believe this are not your friends, they are not anyone you can trust… or listen to. “People in power, and those who support […]

Realistic, Not Fatalistic ktd-009

Realistic, Not Fatalistic ktd-009

When did being realistic become synonymous with being cynical or fatalistic. Who says having a negative, hopeless, “why try?” view on life is being realistic? To deny the potential of humanity for good isn’t realistic at all. It’s fatalistic, and I’m not about that. It’s time to let that nightmare of a fantasy go. “Is […]
