In Honor of My 52nd Birthday…

Written by on October 27, 2007 in Conversations on the Healing Journey with 5 Comments

…which will be next Friday, November 2nd, I’m going to be writing my thoughts about growing older all this week. Some will be older posts, that I once had here, then moved to another blog, and now am consolidating back here. Others will be brand new.

In this week of contemplation and celebration, I will, also, be posting photos between here and my more personal blog concerning my childhood at Miyasan’s Daughter, as well as add some thoughts about my mother, her mother and the paths they traveled…and built for the one that followed.

I will also be posting a song I wrote just recently, called “No Apologies”, to celebrate and express how I feel at this stage of my life. I have the song in hand. It’s recorded, mixed and converted into an audio file. But I will wait and present it to myself as a gift and share this song and my joy with you on November 2nd. It’s that special to me.

I wrote this song not only for myself, and all older women everywhere, but for my daughters, and every woman’s daughter. The models are not the skinny ones who slink down the cat walk. We are the models, and we are the promise of what our daughters can be.

I want to do my best to make it a good promise.

You know, I just may celebrate all month.

My Sweet Demian__so glad we made contact–great site!! Lovingly have been wondering how you were doing–and how everything was coming together for you.
Blessings so often come at such “needed” times, and your spirit, surely caught on quickly to this one 🙂
Love you much and keep up the great work…and sing to your hearts content–Dear One….we love you

    Hugzz and much love

  • Dear Raoel43! I just love serendipitous happenings, don’t you? They are *so* fun.

I couldn’t help smiling last night when just moments after thinking about you and realizing we hadn’t spoken in the longest time, I should happen to discover an email notice, that came in within ten minutes, that you made a comment on my MySpace page! LOL, I love it…

And I love seeing you here. It feels right.

We hear so much about predators and the dangers of the internet, and sadly, it’s true. We do have to be careful, but I have met some of the most beautiful people here, and you’re one of them.

Thank you for the gift of the smile you gave me last night, and for all the others you’ve given. I have quite a collection. 🙂

    Getting closer Dear Demian :)))
Do I get to send you a sweet “hug and a ”’little”’ Pinch” just because—this is a special year….and you need to remember__””sigh””
the lil ‘ole lady…from Minnesota: who will be reminding you the rest of your ‘birth year’—to continue the same ‘mode of thinking’–should you stray from the path__due to earthly pressures and demands :)))))
I am just kidding and picking on you LOL—being silly tonight as its been a horrible week, so far, and needed to be, just for a moment, to remind MYself, to stay bright and happy and not to let life’s hurdles..get me down
Love you much ___”birthday girl”…yes__do celebrate all month and all year for that matter!!

  • Oh, yes! LOL, it most certainly is! Send me all the hugs and reminders to “stay the course”, as you want…although a “swift kick” or a loving “two by four” is sometimes needed more than a “little pinch”! 🙄

Anyway, I’m so sorry you had a rough week! Be as silly as you want! You deserve it. If anyone should have lots of wonderful silliness and laughter in their life, it’s you, girl!

Tell you what…let’s celebrate all year together :-)…and let’s make it a special point to really live it up this month, okay?

I’m feeling that silly bug coming on myself 🙂

Its catching for sure–I was ‘bitten’ by that bug awhile back, and have been having “relapses” ever since of silliness and bouts of laughter…(TG) Well it surely helps us get through the days of physical suffering and misery. And when the clouds of ‘doom’ try to roll in…it keeps that weight at bay….
Yes we will try and keep the celebration going all month…indeed..I am so glad October is over with; it seemed to carry such a negative weight.
So on to; the ‘Thanksgiving’ month 🙂 And yes I am thankful for much this year….believe me!! And so I do celebrate this month with you and for good reason!!
    Blessings and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
