What does healing look like to you?

For me, I’ve always seen it as freedom and space to create. This covers the financial needs covered to do so unfettered and the health. But most importantly, time and space are always precious to me.

Because I was raised to put other people first, not as a choice when situations merit it, but as a matter of expectation and accommodation, I had pretty much piece-mealed any creative endeavor I engaged in. It took me 14 years to write, record and release my first CD… and I haven’t released another once since.

So for me, healing looks like setting boundaries, being able to say no and honoring those things that are important to me. Learning a lot about self-care these days. Old habits are hard to break and toxic templates harder, but it can be done.

    What about you?
